Alexandra Raisman
Aly Raisman, an Olympic gold medalist in gymnastics has was the one who led her team in the U.S. to victory in both the years 2012 and 2016. Aly Raisman holds the distinction of having six Olympic medals as well as two World Championships gold medals. Aly is from Needham located in Massachusetts. The passion she has for the sport of gymnastics is traceable to her 18-month old "mommy with me" class. Aly Raisman is a proponent of body positivity and an exemplary leader in and off the floor, and has spoken about Larry Nassar during his sentencing hearing. Aly Raisman, born in 1994, began her gymnastics career as an infant and helped her U.S. team to win the 2011 World Championships. In 2012, she won two gold medals at the London Olympics the first in the team competition as well as an individual one in floor exercises and also an Olympic bronze medal on the beam. Raisman was awarded silver medals in both the individual and floor finals at the 2016 Olympics at Rio. In addition, she took home the gold medal from the gymnastics team competition. Raisman admitted in 2017 that she had been sexually assaulted by a former team doctor Larry Nassar. The following year, she brought an action with USA Gymnastics as well as the U.S. Olympic Committee.
